Khelo India University Games begins in Uttar Pradesh

Kabaddi competitions in Khelo India University Games to begin in Uttar Pradesh from today

3rd Khelo India University games started with the Kabaddi event this evening in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Today the league matches of Kabaddi event held 4:00 p.m. onwards in the evening.

15 teams of different universities are taking part in this event, for which the matches are being held at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik stadium in Gautam Buddha Nagar district.

The official inauguration ceremony will be held on 25th May in Lucknow in which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also take part virtually. He will be the chief guest of the event.

Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur along with the Chief minister of state Yogi Adityanath will take part in the inaugural function. The khelo India University games will continue till 3rd June and the closing ceremony will be held in Varanasi.

This games will be organised at four places Gautam Budh Nagar, Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Varanasi.

Meanwhile the publicity campaign for Khelo India University games and practice sessions are going on at different places across the state. Today the yoga practice session was organised at BHU in Varanasi.

Restling and Yogasan games will be organised in Varanasi during the Khelo India University games. 240 players are taking part in the wrestling events while 96 players will take part in yogasan events which will be held in Varanasi.
