Khateema (Udham singh Nagar) Assembly seat Looser Pushkar Dhami took Oath as Chief Minister of the Hill State
Dehradun Uttrakhand ://BJP leader Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday, 23 March 2022 , took oath as second term Uttarakhand chief minister.Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President JP Nadda were presented at the ceremony, at the Parade Ground in Dehradun.
Pushkar Singh Dhami took oath in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president JP Nadda and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. BJP leader Vasundhara Raje , Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma , CM UP Yogi Adityanath , CM Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar , Pramod Sawant ,Meenakshi Lekhi and other BJP Leaders were also present at the grand event.
Total Eight Cabinet ministers were sworn in along with Pushkar Dhami . Five of them – Subodh Uniyal ,Satpal Maharaj, , Dhan Singh Rawat, Ganesh Joshi and Rekha Arya – took oath for the second consecutive term. There were three out of eight took oath first-time likewise Chandan Ram Das, Saurabh Bahuguna and Prem Chand Aggarwal.
Pushkar singh succeeded Tirath Singh Rawat to become the state’s 11th CM. He has a strong hold over the youth of the state, having been the chief of the party’s Uttarakhand youth wing – the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) from 2002 to 2006 . He also been held as vice-president of the Uttarakhand BJP in the past.
As you know BJP won 47 seats in the 70-member Assembly in the recently concluded state assebly elections. With this, the BJP has become the first party ever in Uttarakhand’s 21-year-old history to return to power in consecutive elections. Dhami had lost to Congress candidate Bhuwan Chandra Kapri from Khatima by a margin of 6,579 votes.
