Announces Joint Gatherings with Jamaat Tabligh and Islamic Madrasas in Five Zones for Mutual Cooperation.

New Delhi – August 4, 2023: An important meeting of the Markazi Deeni Taalmi Board( Central Religious Education Board of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind) was held at Madani Hall, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Noumani, the rector, and Sheikh Al-Hadith Darul Uloom Deoband, and President of the Central Religious Education Board, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind. The General Secretary of the Board Mufti Salman Mansoorpuri initiated the proceedings.

In his esteemed presidential address, Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani emphasized that we find ourselves at a critical juncture, where adversaries of our faith surround us, and our new generation faces numerous temptations. He stressed that it is incumbent upon every Muslim to protect our youth from these allurements and to imbue them with knowledge, wisdom, and the significance of faith in their hearts. Urgent action is essential to safeguard the future, as even a slight negligence could lead us into a profound abyss.

“At this pivotal moment, we earnestly call upon the intelligent minds of our community, the intellectuals, and the officials of Madrasas, to champion the cause of organized religious maktabs and to ensure the provision of religious education for girls. We must set a special objective of equipping our community with a robust and sustainable system in collaboration with the Board of Religious Education, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind. Together, we can fortify the foundations of our religion and strengthen the unity of our Ummah.”

Maulana Mahmood Asa’d Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, echoed the sentiment of our esteemed elders, who referred to religious schools as oxygen for us. He emphasized the paramount importance of sending every child to Maktabs, and urged scholars to take the lead in safeguarding Islam and faith in the country during this crisis.

Maulana Madani announced the decision of the Religious Education Board, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, to establish ten thousand organized schools across the country within the next thirteen months. He sought cooperation from all religious institutions, including madrasas, Jamaat Tabligh, and Jamiat Ulama, expressing confidence in success with Allah’s support. He further urged unwavering dedication in making the Maktabs dynamic centers of Islamic education.

During the meeting, it was decided to organize joint gatherings of Madrasas, Jamiat Ulama, and individuals involved in Da’wa and Tabligh in the five zones established by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind. These gatherings will seek the full support of Islamic Madrasahs in the establishment of organized schools, with officials of girls’ Madrasahs evaluating the possibilities of girls’ maktabs.

Additionally, students studying in madrasas will be gathered at the end of the year to instill the importance of service in maktabs in their hearts. The Religious Education Board officials were instructed to survey mosques with the assistance of Jamiat Ulama officials to compile relevant data.
An important decision was made to establish a research and development department for curriculum, headed by Maulana Shamsuddin Bijli, General Secretary, Jamiat Ulama Karnataka.

The department has compiled the Adult Education Curriculum (Urdu and English) and “Tahrir Sikhye,” a writing book in Urdu for children, both of which were approved. Translations of “deeni taalimaat” into Bengali and Tamil languages were also released. Furthermore, the annual budget of the board was increased to two crores of rupees to further enhance its activities.

The meeting concluded with a supplication led by Mufti Abul Qasim Naumani, President of the Board of Religious Education. The comprehensive report on the board’s activities was presented by Maulana Muhammad Khalid Gyavi, the secretary of the Board of Religious Education, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind.

The meeting was attended by respected scholars and officials from various regions of India, along with Maulana Mahmood Asa’d Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, and Maulana Rehmatullah Mir Kashmiri, member of Shuri Darul Uloom Deoband, Mufti Mahmood Badoli Gujrat, Maulana Qari Shaukat Ali, Mufti Abdullah Marufi, Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Shaukat Ali Bastavi, Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, Maulana Niaz Ahmed Farooqui, Professor Muhammad Nauman, Maulana Abdul Qadir Assam, Maulana Mufti Muhammad Affan Mansoorpuri, Maulana Mehboob Hasan Assam, Mufti Jamilur Rehman Pratapgarh, Mufti Abdul Momin Tripura. Maulana Mufti Roshan Akola, Maulana Ibrahim Sholapuri, Maulana Rizwan Qasmi Patna, Mufti Shamsuddin Bijli, Hafiz Syed Asim Abdullah Karnataka, Maulana Abul Hasan Yakub Tamil Nadu, Maulana Abdullah Khalid Saharanpur, Maulana Imdadul Islam Bengal, Maulana Dawood Amini Delhi.
