Public Demand Rises to Rename Flyover as “Muhammad Fareed Uddin Flyover”
Zaheerabad, June 17, 2025: On behalf of the respected citizens and social activists of Zaheerabad, Dr. Jan Nisar Moin (Telengana freedom fighter) has made a heartfelt appeal to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Hon’ble Shri.
Anumula Revanth Reddy, to officially name the newly constructed flyover in the city after the late public leader Muhammad Fareed Uddin.
He requested that the official government notification be issued immediately before the inauguration plaque is installed so that the name is properly and uniformly reflected in all official records and signage.
This demand follows a public announcement made recently by the Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mr. Suresh Kumar Shetkar, who declared in the presence of the Chief Minister during a public meeting that the flyover would be named “Muhammad Fareed Uddin Flyover”.
Local residents and social representatives are now urging that this announcement be formalized through a government order, ensuring it is not limited to a verbal promise.
Among the proposals submitted to the Chief Minister are the following:
• The flyover should be officially named “Muhammad Fareed Uddin Flyover” as a tribute to the late leader’s dedication to public service, social harmony, and community welfare.
• A dignified statue of Muhammad Fareed Uddin should be installed near the flyover as a permanent memorial and source of inspiration for future generations.
• All related official signage, government notifications, and inauguration plaques should include Urdu language, alongside Telugu and English. Specifically, the flyover’s name should be written in Urdu script – “محمد فرید الدین فلائی اوور” – to ensure cultural and linguistic representation for the Urdu-speaking community.
These proposals were formally submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office under the leadership of Dr. Jan Nisar Moin, with copies sent to various ministers, the District Collector, the Member of Parliament, the Municipal Commissioner, and other senior officials for necessary action.
Public representatives and citizens have sincerely appealed to the Chief Minister to consider this request with compassion and urgency, and to issue the naming notification without delay.
They believe this step will honour the legacy of Muhammad Fareed Uddin and stand as a symbol of Telangana’s commitment to linguistic inclusivity, cultural harmony, and historical recognition.
