Jamiat distributes one thousand Sleepwellmattress in tents in the historical city of Antakya in Turkey

New Delhi, March 1, The victims of the catastrophic earthquake in southern and central Turkey urgently need food and shelter. The earthquake in the region caused damage to more than five hundred thousand houses in ten provinces.
The delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind today started the relief work from the historical city, Antakya by distributing 1000 Sleepwell mattresses in different shelter homes installed in the city outskirts to house the thousands of earthquake victims.
The entire city of Antakiya has been reduced to rubble. The total population has been forced to move into tens of thousands of tents despite the freezing cold, but still many have nothing to hide in. The delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind met there with the affected families, including orphaned innocent children.
The delegation apart from Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi, also included Mufti Mohammad Anwar Qasmi Bastavi Deoband, Syed Shahbaz, and Mohammad Abdullah.
Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi, the head of the delegation of Jamiat, has noted in his report that the earthquake is still hounding the region.
The delegation of the Jamiat is continuously trying to get access to needy persons. Meanwhile, the Jamiat delegation met with Bekir Bozdağ Minister of Justice of the Republic of Türkiye, and offered every kind of help from Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind.
Bekir Bozdağ Minister of Justice welcomed the proposal and ensured cooperation on the part of the government.
