Home Minister Amit Shah to inaugurate Phase I of Bengaluru Safe City project

New Delhi : Home Minister Amit Shah today inaugurated the Phase I of the Bengaluru Safe City project  . The project is envisaged under Nirbhaya Scheme at a cost of over Rs 496 crore to ensure the safety of women in Bengaluru city.

As part of this project, audio-visual systems, drones, CCTVs and emergency call boxes or emergency panic buttons are installed in various parts of the city for the safety of women .

An automatic number plate recognition system, facial recognition system, crime analytics system, mobile command centre and drones will be part of the project.

A Command centre will monitor streets and receive distress calls and rush help to the rescue of women at risk. The women on the street facing threats can also directly communicate with the Command centre seeking help.

Earlier in the day, Shah visited Basavakalyan in Bidar district in north Karnataka today, where the 12th-century philosopher, poet, and Lingayat social reformer Jagatjyothi Basavanna had founded Anubhava Mantapa.

The Home Minister also inaugurated the Vijay Sankalpa Yatra of BJP in Bidar. Earlier in the evening,  Shah visited the historical Chennakesava temple.

Later, he inaugurated the Vijay Sankalpa Yatra in Devanahalli and addressed a public meeting in Bengaluru rural district.
