Khartoum, June 17 (QNA) – President of Sudan Omar Al Bashir has announced a new 4-month ceasefire in all operation scenes in South Kordufan and Blue Nile, effective as of Saturday the 18th of June 2016.
According to Sudan news agency (SUNA), the declaration is a goodwill initiative to allow the rebel movements, which did not sign the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur, to join the peace process in the Sudan and it is also a renewal of the call made by Al Bashir to all political forces and armed movements to join the national dialogue before the convening of the general congress of the national dialogue, set for August the sixth.
