PM Modi, Mitsotakis Discuss Trade, Connectivity at India AI Summit 2026

New Delhi: Top bureau// Prime Minister  Narendra Modi met with His Excellency Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic (Greece), on the occasion of the AI Impact Summit on February 19, 2026.

The Greek Prime Minister is on a visit to India from February 18–19, 2026, and has come to participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held in New Delhi.

He was accompanied by a delegation including Digital Governance Minister Mr. Dimitrios Papastergios and senior officials.

Comprehensive Review of Strategic PartnershipDuring the meeting, both leaders reviewed the full scope of the bilateral strategic partnership and acknowledged that cooperation across diverse sectors is progressing steadily.

They also discussed strengthening collaboration in new areas of mutual interest in the future.Discussions on Regional and Global IssuesThe two Prime Ministers exchanged views on issues of regional and global importance.

Appreciating recent connectivity initiatives, they discussed the potential to expand them under the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).

New Opportunities in Trade and InvestmentBoth leaders agreed that the recent high-level exchanges are injecting new momentum into the strategic partnership.

They also noted that the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will open new opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.High-Level Visits Strengthen TiesThis is Prime Minister Mitsotakis’s second visit to India.

He had previously made a state visit in February 2024, which was the first visit to India by any Greek government head in 15 years.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Athens on August 25, 2023, when bilateral relations were elevated to the level of strategic partnership. (Input: PIB)
