ED summons to CM Kejriwal case: Court grants bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on a bond of Rs 15,000
The court directed the ED to provide documents related to the complaints to Kejriwal
NEW DELHI: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday in a case related to him skipping Enforcement Directorate (ED) summonses. The relief to Kejriwal was granted on a bond of Rs 15,000 and a surety of Rs 1 lakh.
The ED had filed two complaints seeking Kejriwal’s prosecution for skipping multiple summonses in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.
Furthermore, the court directed the ED to provide documents related to the complaints to Kejriwal.
The latest complaint pertains to Kejriwal not honouring summonses no. 4 to 8 sent by the federal probe agency under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).The ED had earlier moved the magisterial court seeking Kejriwal’s prosecution for not attending the first three summonses issued to him in the same case.
