Arvind Kejriwal ‘Delhi CM Will Be Arrested’: All That Came Before Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) -Indian NAtional Congress (INC) Alliance

New Delhi : TOP / In last a decade challenger Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Indian National Congress (INC) settle seat-sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on early February 2024. Multiple rounds of meetings, disagreements, decisions to go it alone, renewed negotiations came before the two parties shook hands. A formal alliance between AAP and Congress is a poignant moment in Indian politics.

As thenation  knows that  AAP was built out of a India Against Corruption movement, a grassroot mobilisation against corruption in the Congress-led UPA regime. Arvind Kejriwal was once Sonia Gandhi’s fiercest critic. But now, a pact has been made, and both parties have come together with the stated goal of defeating the BJP.

Remember, nothing is permanent in politics. There must have been some compulsion for AAP to go with the party which was its opponent till yesterday. AAP has been expressing its dissatisfaction with the policies and schemes of BJP for the last 10 years, due to which the BJP government at the Center has put the Governor of Delhi behind Arvind Kejriwal.

But a pact between AAP and INC comes with the promise of drama. Only in January, the Congress compared Arvind Kejriwal to Adolf Hitler, the leader of Germany in the Second World War accused of causing the genocide of six million Jews.

Punjab Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa made the comment merely hours after the Congress and AAP were talking alliance in Punjab. The alliance in Punjab is not happening. Arvind Kejriwal has said the it was a ‘mutual’ decision of the two parties to contest in alliance in Punjab. However, such decisions are against morality and also confuse the people of the country.

For time being , AAP and INC have decided to fight the polls together in five states and Union Territories, including Delhi, where the AAP has been in power since 2013. In Delhi, AAP with contest four out of seven seats and the INC on three. In Gujarat, the Congress will contest 24 out of 26 seats and AAP will contest two seats. In Haryana, AAP will contest one out of the 10 seats, while Congress will contest the remaining nine.

“We were told that the moment AAP stitches a multi-state alliance with the INC, Arvind Kejriwal will be arrested. A notice to arrest Arvind Kejriwal will be served by evening or tomorrow,” AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj and Delhi Education Minister Atishi disclosed at a joint press conference on Friday.

On Saturday, as AAP-INC announced their alliance, Delhi BJP leader Manoj Tiwari sought to remind the Delhi Chief Minister of all he used to say about the Congress. “You must have heard chor chor mausere bhai. This is what is happening between AAP and Congress. AAP workers are disappointed because Arvind Kejriwal used to speak about putting Congress leaders in jail but he is now at their feet,” tiwari said.

Keep in mind that before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP will not miss any opportunity to weaken the opposition, no matter how low it has to stoop. inputs timesnow
