Kabul : Afghanistan has accused Pakistan of carrying out an airstrike on a drug rehabilitation hospital in the capital late Monday, claiming at least 400 people were killed and around 250 injured.

Officials said the strike hit the facility around 9 p.m., causing massive destruction and triggering a fire, with rescue teams working through the night.

The incident marks a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two countries, which has seen weeks of cross-border clashes and airstrikes, despite international calls for a ceasefire.

Afghan officials condemned the attack, alleging it targeted civilians and hospital patients. However, Pakistan has firmly rejected the claims, stating its operations targeted militant infrastructure and did not hit any civilian sites.

Islamabad described the allegations as “baseless” and insisted the strikes were precise and aimed at preventing harm to civilians.
