RSS leader Ram Madhav’s denial of persecution of Minority is a bid to hide truth: Jamiat

New Delhi November 5: The President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Maulana Mahmood Asa’d Madani has termed Ram Madhav’s statement denying the persecution of minorities in India as untrue and called it tantamount to turning a blind eye to ground reality.

The RSS leader Ram Madhav while speaking at Religion-20 (R20), a global summit of religious leaders being held parallel to the G20 summit in Indonesia said that the narrative around religious “persecution” of minorities in India was untrue.

 

Maulana Madani said that India celebrates unity in diversity and has a proud record of giving shelter to the persecuted from all across the world. Unfortunately, it has been besmirched in the last few years by some communal elements.

These forces have gained strength and power to persecute Minorities. There are innumerable national and international reports which testify to the fact.

In this regard, Time Magazine Report (2021), NDTV Research Report (2018), Panel of Independent International Expert report (June 2022), Amnesty International Report (2022) and other national and international reports suggest that physical and verbal attacks on minorities and hate speeches increased a hundredfold in the country.

 

Maulana Madani said that some of the reports may be found exaggerative, but the gist of the fact is there have been physical and verbal attacks on minorities with little action by law enforcement agencies, and even the Supreme Court itself, has expressed deep concern over hate speeches and continued inaction by the governments.

 

Maulana Madani called that we do not need to hide the facts. Denial of the facts regarding atrocities is not service to this dear country. Instead, to stop the oppressors from cruelty and help the oppressed is the real service.

“We have a strong democracy and robust justice system, we should act while confronting the truth so that we could emerge stronger and anti-national elements do not get a chance to spread misunderstandings about our country.”
