Subject: Urgent Redressal of Grievances Faced by Indian Muslims in the National Interest
Respected Shri Narendra Modi Ji,
I write to you as a concerned citizen, deeply mindful of our nation’s constitutional values and the need to preserve social harmony for India’s progress. On the occasion of our 79th Independence Day, I wish to draw your kind attention to some pressing issues presently affecting a significant section of our population Indian Muslims which, if addressed with fairness and urgency, will strengthen national unity, enhance global goodwill and further our shared development goals.
The following matters deserve immediate consideration:
1. Demolition of Properties in the Name of a Criminally Accused Person or Otherwise
Instances of demolitions allegedly linked to the identity or religion of the accused are creating a perception of selective justice. Such actions risk undermining public faith in due process and the rule of law. Transparent legal recourse should replace punitive demolitions to ensure justice is delivered without bias.
2. Severe Refugee Crisis in Several States, Particularly Assam
In Assam and other states, thousands face statelessness, lack of documentation, and uncertain futures. This humanitarian issue requires a compassionate, lawful and transparent solution that upholds both national security and human dignity.
3. Hate and Mob Violence
The rise in incidents of hate speech and mob attacks against individuals based on religion threatens public safety and communal harmony. Effective enforcement of existing laws, coupled with strong public messaging from the highest offices, can decisively curb this trend.
4. Exclusion of Names Through SIR (Special Inquiry Reports)
The exclusion of names from voter rolls or official registries via SIRs is widely perceived as a “backdoor NRC.” Clear guidelines, uniform procedures and independent review mechanisms can restore confidence and prevent wrongful exclusions.
5. Economic Boycott of Poor Muslims
Calls for social and economic boycott of Muslim street vendors, hawkers and small shopkeepers are depriving families of livelihoods, harming local economies and violating constitutional guarantees of equality. Strict action against such campaigns is essential for both economic justice and social peace.
Why Addressing These Issues is in the National Interest
Addressing these concerns is not only a matter of justice for one community; it is vital for India’s stability, economic growth and global image. A society where every citizen feels secure and valued is better positioned to attract investment, foster innovation and project itself as a truly inclusive democracy.
Mitigating these grievances will help neutralize polarization, strengthen trust in government institutions, and uphold the moral and constitutional foundations of our Republic.
I humbly urge your esteemed office to take these matters under priority consideration and initiate concrete measures for their redressal. The faith of citizens in the fairness and impartiality of the government is one of the strongest pillars of a thriving democracy.
With highest respect,
Yours sincerely,
