Actions on Slogans and Posters Praising the Prophet ﷺ are Grossly Unjust: Jamiat President

Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Madani emphasized that the name of the Prophet ﷺ must be respected and should not be used as a pretext for reactionary protests.

New Delhi, 30 September 2025:Maulana Mahmood Madani strongly condemned the actions taken by the Uttar Pradesh Police against slogans and posters such as “I Love Muhammad,” calling them deeply unjust.
Maulana Madani stated that Muslims attain Allah’s pleasure only through love, obedience, and following the teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
The love of Allah, if granted, comes exclusively through the Prophet ﷺ, and without love for the Prophet ﷺ, everything remains incomplete. This is why Muslims do not hesitate to make any sacrifice in the path of expressing their devotion to the Prophet ﷺ.
He also highlighted that a true believer’s responsibility is to make the Prophet ﷺ his ideal and guide, and not to turn Him subject of any reactions or protests.
Respect and reverence for the Prophet ﷺ demand this. Allah Almighty has made the Prophet ﷺ a mercy and a source of compassion for all, and His message is universal and equally sacred for everyone.
Maulana Madani urged the Uttar Pradesh government to take into account public sentiments and to refrain from unjust actions, such as arresting individuals solely on the basis of slogans or posters.
He also appealed to Muslim youth to express their views with patience, wisdom, and through legal and democratic channels, while remaining vigilant against the conspiracies and deceit of the enemies of Islam.
