Bail Granted to Six in Mewat Riots

New Delhi – September 12, 2023: Mewat Row :In a significant development, six accused were granted bail today in connection with the Mewat riots. Notably, one of the accused faced serious charges under sections 302 and 307 of the IPC.

Advocate Tahir Hussain Roparia, supported by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, presented a compelling argument before District Judge Sushil Kumar. He asserted that the accused, a resident of Biwan village, who was booked under FIR No. 399 and 401, had been unjustly charged with sections 302 and 307.

Advocate Roparia emphasized that there was no evidence linking the accused to the incident, and there were strong indications that he was in his village at the time of the event.

Call records and other compelling evidence substantiated his alibi. Following this discussion, the District Judge granted bail to the accused in the mentioned FIR.

Additionally, under FIR No. 83, 253/2023, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Justice Ajay Sharma also granted bail to four other accused individuals. In total, six persons were granted bail today across both courts.

Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind is actively pursuing 150 cases related to the Mewat riots, and the organization’s relentless efforts have resulted in the bail of 12 individuals so far. President of Jamiat Ulama-Hind, Maulana Mahmood Madani, expressed his satisfaction with this significant development.
